The Tuesday known as Faschingsdienstag is the last day of carnival before the Lent time begins. Lent is a time of fast, which starts on Ash Wednesday, a Catholic tradition remembering when Jesus Christ died.

In Munich, on the Faschingsdienstag there is a special dance show called “Tanz der Marktfrauen”, at Viktualienmarkt. On this day, between Stachus and Viktualienmarkt, there are Stands and music shows in the city center through Neuhauser and Kaufinger Straße.
