For many of us, born in a warmer country than Germany, one of the most beautiful seasons of the year is Spring. Finally, the first sunny days and temperatures around 15 degrees make our body shake with joy after the long days of darkness and winter.
However, don't put away your jacket and snow boots because we can still have snowing days.
Time to change our watches is almost here, it is the last March's Saturday being this year on the 27th. Be prepared to move your watch forward for one hour. As I have heard from several people in Munich, the furniture is moved out to the garden or balcony too!
This is the season to plant seeds, flowers, or vegetables! Is doing urban gardening a good option for you? It might be! As well as it might be a nice way to meet more people in the city. You can find a "Gemüsebeete" (vegetable patch) in many locations in Munich, some examples:
-Radicchio Radicale, find more info about here.
- Münchner Krautgarten, with 8 locations, find more info.
-Greencity, (booked out for this season) Find more info.
Events highlights for spring in Munich
Party vibes are back! I noticed it traveling at the subway, clubs are open, and people on party mood. More events are happening in Munich, and soon we will have our special section again with hand-picked events for expats.
Some highlights for this spring are:
ARTMUC: is an art exhibition for everyone; I love this event because art becomes accessible for everyone, and you can exchange information with the artist about their work. From May 13 to 15th, you can visit it at the Praterinsel. Find more info at Artmuc's website.
Frühlingsfest: This traditional festival has been held on the grounds of the Oktoberfest since 1965 on the Theresienwiese. From April 22 to May 8 you will find two tents and over 100 rides, so let's say Prost!
Maidult: This festival at Mariahilfplatz takes place 4 times a year. In May, we are happy to visit it from April 30 to May 8. You find stands with pots, porcelain, and other ceramic wares; it is probably the largest crockery market in Europe. Don´t miss a carrousel ride!
Check out our reels on Instagram to get a better idea.
Flea markets: April is their season for the spring-summer version. In Munich, it is a tradition. You will find several markets of all kinds, like plants, bicycles, antiques, summer clothes. It is worth strolling around and enjoying the vibes.
Enjoy the spring and plant flowers! If you have any recommendations, write me at hello@mucvibes.com or send me a DM on Instagram.
